Where Fuquay-Varina is
Fuquay-Varina is in southwestern Wake County, just north of the Harnett County line. Holly Springs is a neighbor, and Raleigh is to the north.

Two towns, one name
According to the Town's history, the area was first known as “Piney Woods.” A mineral spring found on the Fuquay family's land drew visitors to “take the waters.” Fuquay Springs was incorporated in 1909 and joined the neighboring community of Varina in 1963. The Town notes that it has two historic districts.
Research growth before you choose a street
Fuquay-Varina's “What's Coming” page maps projects that are proposed, approved, under construction, and completed, along with transportation and economic development projects. Check it for any home you're serious about. A field behind a house today may be a planned neighborhood or road tomorrow.
Inside town limits or not?
A mailing address doesn't tell you whether a home is inside town limits. That affects which services you get, how water and sewer are provided, and which taxes apply. Confirm it through Wake County property records and with the seller's disclosures. For homes on wells or septic systems, plan inspections specific to those systems.
Schools, HOAs, and commute
Check school assignment for the specific address with the WCPSS lookup. Read HOA covenants before you're under contract if you can, especially rules on fencing, parking, or rentals. Drive the commute at the times you'd actually travel.
Resale or new construction
Fuquay-Varina offers both. Compare total monthly cost, lot, finished features, and move-in timing, not just list price. If you visit builder sales centers, remember the sales representative works for the builder.
